Last week, I attended the ‘Deconstructing Offshore Finance‘ seminar, held at St Peter’s College in Oxford. It was a gathering of critical social scientists (economic geographers, international business and management scholars, political scientists and sociologists), former policy makers and civil society organisations (Tax Justice Network) to examine the concepts, methods and policy implications of offshore finance in the contemporary global economy. My thanks to Dariuz Wojcik for inviting me to the seminar and also to Gordon Clark and the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment for sponsoring the event.
