On 28 February 2019, I will be speaking at a webinar organised by the Young Scholars Initiative, Urban and Regional Economics Working Group (part of the Institute for New Economic Thinking). In the presentation, I will discuss how regulatory history and regional dynamics shape investment banks, financial networks and Asian financial centres. The findings are based on research funded by the Global Production Networks Centre (GPN@NUS) and have been written up in a forthcoming paper in Regional Studies journal (co-authored with Kurtulus Gemici).
