Given the uncertainty of holding in-person events in 2021, the FinGeo committee decided back in 2020 to organise a virtual seminar series to maintain community engagement and discussions. Organised in three parts (February-March, May-July, and September-November), we have finished with a very stimulating and well-attended Part 1, and about to start with Part 2 in May 2021. With thanks to Regional Studies Association (RSA) for their continued support.
I was one of the co-organisers of Part I (with Dariusz Wojcik and David Bassens), and we were delighted to have a strong line-up of speakers from across career stages and covering different topics on money and finance. As part of this initiative, we have also launched a FinGeo YouTube channel, which will be a repository of other seminars and recordings that are in the works.
Part II of the FinGeo Virtual Seminar Series (May-July 2021) is co-organised by Fenghua Pan and Thomas Sigler, featuring speakers from diverse locations and specialisations. The next seminar will be given by Markus Hesse (University of Luxembourg) on 4th May 2021, 14.00 CEST/20.00 China (please click here for details and registration).
